Is it copyright infringement to publish summaries of books so people don’t have to read the books?

I would like to create a blog wherein I read books and then create “Cliffs Notes” versions of them. The blog would be focused toward people who would like to read these books and learn the material but don’t have time to do so. Would I run into copyright infringement problems in doing this?

Yes, you will run into problems with this. At least one court has held that it is copyright infringement to summarize the key aspects of a book so others don’t need to read the book.
