2025 Session Last amended: 2024 session

§ 103D.701 — Project Initiation

Plain-Language Summary

No watershed district project can start until the Board of Water and Soil Resources approves the district's management plan. Projects are started either by a petition filed with the managers, by a majority vote of the board of managers, or as otherwise allowed by the Watershed Law.

Practical Notes
This is a threshold requirement: the management plan must be approved before any projects can begin. Property owners, county boards, or city governing bodies can initiate projects by petition. Managers can also start projects on their own by majority resolution.
