§ 103D.730 — Stormwater Facilities

Plain-Language Summary

Any watershed district can build, buy, or maintain stormwater collection systems including mains, holding ponds, and related facilities. The district can acquire the needed land through purchase, gift, lease, or condemnation.

Practical Notes
This gives watershed districts broad authority over stormwater infrastructure. The power to condemn (take) land for stormwater facilities means districts can proceed even without voluntary sales. This authority is in addition to other powers the district has under the Watershed Law.
