§ 103D.915 — Tax Levy

Plain-Language Summary

After adopting the budget by September 15, the watershed district secretary tells each county auditor how much tax to collect from that county. The share is based on each county's proportion of the district's total net tax capacity. County treasurers collect the tax along with other property taxes and send the money to the district.

Practical Notes
The watershed district levy appears on your property tax statement alongside other local taxes. The maximum levy amounts are set in section 103D.905. This tax is in addition to all other county taxes, not a replacement for them.
