§ 103E.261 — Preliminary Hearing

Plain-Language Summary

After the preliminary survey report is filed, the drainage authority holds a hearing within 30 days. Property owners and the public are notified by mail at least ten days before the hearing. The engineer presents information and all interested parties can speak.

Practical Notes
Attend the preliminary hearing if a drainage project might affect your property. This is your first major opportunity to be heard and to review the engineer’s findings. The drainage authority decides at this hearing whether to continue the project.
