2025 Session Last amended: 2003 session

§ 134.13 — Annual Report

Plain-Language Summary

Each year after the fiscal year ends, the library board must report to its city council or county board on all money received and spent, the number of materials on hand, and items purchased and loaned. By April 1 each year, the library board must also file this information with the Minnesota Department of Education on the department's forms.

Practical Notes
Annual reporting to the Department of Education is mandatory for all public library boards. Failure to file the annual report by April 1 may affect eligibility for state library grants and aid. The report submitted to the Department of Education is used to compile statewide library statistics and determine aid distributions.
