§ 142A.10 — Compliance System

Plain-Language Summary

This section sets up a compliance system so the commissioner can make sure public assistance programs are run correctly across the state. The commissioner uses training, technical assistance, and monitoring to help counties follow the rules. The commissioner can issue subpoenas to enforce compliance.

Practical Notes
The compliance system covers MFIP, SNAP, child care assistance, and other programs the commissioner oversees. Its goal is to make sure benefits are given out on time and accurately, and that programs run the same way across all counties. This helps prevent the state from losing federal funding due to noncompliance.
