§ 144E.18 — Inspections

Plain-Language Summary

This section gives the director the power to inspect ambulance services as often as needed to make sure they follow the law. The director can also review any documents or electronic files that ambulance services are required to keep on hand.

144E.18 INSPECTIONS.

The director may inspect ambulance services as frequently as deemed necessary to determine whether an ambulance service is in compliance with sections 144E.001 to 144E.33 and rules adopted under those sections. The director may review at any time documentation or electronic files required to be on file with a licensee.

Practical Notes

Ambulance services should be prepared for inspections at any time. The director does not need to give advance notice and can inspect as frequently as necessary. All required documents and records must be available for review. Keeping good records and maintaining compliance is essential to passing inspections.
