§ 145B.03 — Living Will

Plain-Language Summary

This section explains how to properly create a living will in Minnesota. You must be an adult and able to make decisions. The living will must be in writing, signed by you and two witnesses.

Practical Notes
To make a valid living will, you need to sign it in front of two witnesses. The witnesses cannot be people who would inherit from you or your health care providers. A notary can be used instead of witnesses. If done wrong, the living will may not be honored.
