§ 148E.095 — License Certificate

Plain-Language Summary

This section governs the license wall certificate that social workers receive when licensed. The board issues a wall certificate at no extra charge when a new license is issued. If a social worker needs a duplicate certificate—for example, due to a name change or damage—they must submit a written request and pay a fee.

Practical Notes
Social workers are required to display their license certificate at their place of practice so clients can see it. If a social worker has multiple practice locations, additional certificates can be obtained for each location for a fee. A wall certificate serves as public proof of licensure and the client’s right to check the social worker’s credentials.
