§ 169.30 — Designation of Through Highways

Plain-Language Summary

The state and local governments can designate roads as 'through highways' by placing stop signs or yield signs at the entrances. Every driver must stop at a stop sign or stop line before entering the intersection.

Practical Notes
You must come to a complete stop at every stop sign before entering the intersection. This applies even if you do not see any other traffic.
