§ 16B.57 — Gasoline and Petroleum Products, Source of Supply for Agencies

Plain-Language Summary

This law allows the commissioner to require a state agency that has fuel storage facilities to share gasoline and other petroleum products with other state agencies. The agency receiving the fuel must pay for it. The money received is automatically available to the agency that supplied the fuel.

Practical Notes
This provision helps state agencies access fuel even if they do not have their own storage facilities. The commissioner sets the procedures for how agencies request and pay for fuel from other agencies. Payments between agencies are automatically appropriated, so no additional legislative action is needed.
