§ 206.84 — Methods of Using Electronic Voting Systems

Plain-Language Summary

Election officials must provide instructions for voters and judges on how to use electronic voting systems. Ballot information must follow the same order as paper ballots. Ballot cards must identify the precinct and carry special marks for the counting equipment. Voters who make a mistake can return their ballot and get a new one.

Practical Notes
If you make an error on your ballot, you can ask for a replacement. Election judges must compare ballot cards with sample ballots before the polls open. The official in charge must have all voting equipment ready and deliver a secure container for transporting ballots after polls close.
