§ 240.08 — Occupation Licenses

Plain-Language Summary

Class C occupation licenses are required for people who work in horse racing where pari-mutuel betting is conducted. This includes horse owners, trainers, jockeys, grooms, and other racing workers.

Practical Notes
If you want to work at a Minnesota racetrack in any capacity related to racing, you need a Class C license. The commission can deny, suspend, or revoke your license if you violate racing rules. Background checks are required for all applicants.
