2025 Session Last amended: 1994 session

§ 240.28 — Conflict of Interest

Plain-Language Summary

Racing Commission members and employees cannot have financial interests in licensed racing operations or own racehorses that compete at Minnesota tracks. Commission members also cannot bet on races at licensed tracks.

Practical Notes
If you serve on or work for the Racing Commission, you must avoid conflicts of interest. You cannot own stock in a racing company, have a financial interest in a racetrack vendor, or own a racehorse running in Minnesota. These restrictions help maintain public trust in racing regulation.
