§ 244.057 — Predatory Offender; Household With Children

Before a registered sex offender is allowed to live in a home where children are present, the corrections agency supervising that person must notify the local child protection agency.
244.057 PREDATORY OFFENDER; HOUSEHOLD WITH CHILDREN.
A corrections agency supervising an offender required to register as a predatory offender under section 243.166 shall notify the appropriate child protection agency before authorizing the offender to live in a household where children are residing.

Practical Notes
This is a child safety requirement that applies to all registered predatory offenders under section 243.166. The notification must happen before the living arrangement is authorized, giving child protection agencies the chance to assess and respond to any risk to the children in the household.
