Plain-Language Summary

Allows the commissioner to place a Medical Assistance recipient in the restricted recipient program if their use of personal care assistance services involves abusive or fraudulent billing. Restricted recipients must use a designated provider agency and get a new assessment.

Practical Notes
If there is evidence of fraud or abuse in your personal care assistance services, the state may restrict which provider agency you can use and require additional monitoring. You will need a new assessment and may face limits on how services are authorized.
