§ 31.12 — Labeling

This section gives the commissioner power to require food labels that show the food's composition, quality, strength, quantity, and source. The commissioner sets the rules for label format and content.

Practical Notes
Food sold in Minnesota must be labeled as required by the commissioner. Labels must show important information about what the food contains, how much is in the package, and where it was made. Failing to follow labeling rules is a misdemeanor.
