§ 31.131 — Emergency Permit Control

Plain-Language Summary

This section allows the commissioner to require emergency permits for food manufacturers when there is a risk of contaminated food entering the market. Permits can be suspended immediately if conditions are violated.

Practical Notes
If a type of food from a certain area may be contaminated, the commissioner can require manufacturers to get special permits before selling it. These permits set conditions for safe production. Inspectors can access the facility at any time to check compliance.
