2025 Session Last amended: 1973 session

§ 325G.19 — Express Warranties

Plain-Language Summary

An express warranty on new consumer goods cannot disclaim the implied warranty of merchantability. Manufacturers, distributors, and retailers must each honor their own express warranties.

Practical Notes
If a product comes with a written warranty, that warranty cannot take away your basic implied warranty rights. The company that made the warranty must honor it.
