§ 325G.31 — Plain Language Required
Plain-Language Summary
Consumer contracts for money, property, or services must be written in plain language that is clear and easy to understand for the general public.
325G.31 PLAIN LANGUAGE REQUIRED.
Except as provided in section 325G.32, every consumer contract shall be written in a clear and coherent manner using words with common and everyday meanings and shall be appropriately divided and captioned by its various sections.

Practical Notes
Businesses must write consumer contracts in simple English. Confusing legal jargon is not allowed.
