§ 352.041 — Leave of Absence for Employment by Political Subdivision

Plain-Language Summary

This section allows state employees who take a leave of absence to work for a local government entity to continue receiving MSRS retirement service credit during that leave. The employee and the local government employer must make the required contributions.

Practical Notes
If you are a state employee who takes a leave to work for a city, county, or other local government, you can keep building your state retirement benefits during that time. The local government employer pays the employer share of contributions.
