§ 357.18 — County Recorder

This section sets the fees county recorders can charge for recording deeds and other documents ($46), certified copies ($10), abstracts of title, plat copies, and other services. A portion of each recording fee goes to the state general fund and the county technology fund.

Of the $46 recording fee, $10.50 goes to the state, $10 goes to the county technology fund, and $25.50 goes to the county general fund. Documents citing more than four recorded instruments cost an extra $10 for each additional citation. Each county must maintain a technology fund for recorder and registrar technology improvements.
