§ 394.232 — Community-based Planning

Plain-Language Summary

This section encourages counties to prepare community-based comprehensive plans. Counties that do so must coordinate with neighboring counties, cities, and towns. Counties can also form joint planning districts with neighboring communities to create a single shared plan.

Practical Notes
State agencies including the DNR, Department of Agriculture, and Pollution Control Agency must be notified at the start of the planning process and given a chance to participate. If a city or town has its own community-based plan, the county must incorporate it into the county plan.
