§ 394.30 — County Board's Planning Commission

Plain-Language Summary

This section allows county boards to create a planning commission of 5 to 11 members. The commission helps prepare the comprehensive plan and reviews applications for conditional use permits and subdivisions. At least two members must live outside city limits.

Practical Notes
No more than one voting member can be a county officer or employee, and no member can have received substantial income from land development in the county during the two years before appointment. The county board can give the planning commission authority to issue conditional use permits, approve subdivisions, and hold public hearings.
