§ 508A.351 — Common Interest Community Certificate

Plain-Language Summary

This section sets rules for registering condominiums and planned communities under CPTs. Before recording a condominium declaration, the examiner of titles must confirm it meets legal requirements. The registrar issues a special Common Interest Community Certificate of Title (CICCT) for these properties.

Practical Notes
If you are creating or buying a condo or planned community on registered land, the documents must be reviewed by the examiner of titles before recording. The property will get a special CICCT instead of a regular CPT or certificate of title.
