§ 518C.308 — Duty of Attorney General

Plain-Language Summary

If the support enforcement agency fails to do its job, the Attorney General can order the agency to perform its duties or step in and provide services directly. The Attorney General can also recognize foreign countries that have child support agreements with Minnesota.

Practical Notes
This provides a safety net if a local support enforcement agency is not helping you. You can contact the Minnesota Attorney General’s office if you believe the county agency is neglecting or refusing to provide the services it is required to give.
