§ 571.915 — Release of Funds
Plain-Language Summary
Allows either the debtor or the creditor to direct the bank to release frozen funds to the other party at any time after the garnishment summons is served, by providing a written release.
571.915 RELEASE OF FUNDS.
At any time the debtor or the creditor may, by a writing dated after the service of the garnishment summons, direct the financial institution to release the funds in question to the other party. Upon receipt of a release, the financial institution shall release the funds as directed.

Practical Notes
If you reach a settlement or payment arrangement with the creditor, the creditor can send a written release to your bank to unfreeze your account. Similarly, if you agree that the funds are not exempt, you can authorize their release to the creditor.
