§ 62R.06 — Health Care Service Contracts

Plain-Language Summary

This section allows provider cooperatives to sign contracts with health plans, government agencies, and other buyers to provide health care services. Cooperatives can be paid through different methods, and their agreements on pricing are not considered illegal restraints of trade.

Practical Notes
Doctors and other providers in a cooperative can jointly negotiate prices and contracts with health plans without violating antitrust laws. This gives small providers bargaining power they would not have individually.
