§ 66A.37 — Application
Plain-Language Summary
All laws that apply to stock insurance companies and all laws that apply to mutual insurance companies also apply to stock and mutual companies, to the extent they are relevant. This means these hybrid companies are subject to both sets of regulations.
66A.37 APPLICATION.
All provisions of law relating to stock companies and all such provisions relating to mutual companies shall, so far as applicable, relate to and govern such stock and mutual companies and the rights of stockholders and members thereof.

Practical Notes
Stockholders and members of stock and mutual companies have the same rights they would have in a pure stock or pure mutual company. This dual regulatory framework can create complex compliance requirements.
