§ 82.59 — Licensing; Examinations and Instruction

Plain-Language Summary

This section covers licensing exams for real estate brokers and salespersons in Minnesota. Applicants must pass an exam given by the commissioner at least every 45 days. The broker exam is harder than the salesperson exam and requires three years of experience. A passing grade is 75% on both the uniform and state portions.

Practical Notes
To get your real estate license in Minnesota, you need to score at least 75% on both parts of the exam. Broker applicants need three years of salesperson experience, though waivers exist for lawyers, real estate degree holders, and military members. Cheating on the exam can result in license denial.
