§ 84A.31 — State Reforestation Projects

Plain-Language Summary

A county board can ask the state to take over tax-delinquent lands for reforestation, flood control, wildlife reserves, or other public purposes. The proposal must go through approval by the DNR, the Executive Council, and the governor.

Practical Notes
This is similar to section 84A.20 but applies to a different set of projects. If your county has tax-delinquent land with unpaid drainage assessments, the county board can propose state takeover. The area must include lands assessed for drainage ditch costs.
