2025 Session Last amended: 2005 session

§ 87A.08 — Applicability of Other Laws

Plain-Language Summary

This section explains how shooting ranges relate to other laws. Federal laws still apply, and local governments can enforce their own rules as long as they do not conflict with this chapter. Existing local restrictions on hours stay in effect.

Practical Notes
Range operators must still follow federal law, state safety codes, and local ordinances that were in effect before May 28, 2005. If a range can show it can fix a violation, it cannot be permanently closed.
