§ 10.582 — Veterans' Voices Month

Plain-Language Summary

October is designated Veterans' Voices Month in Minnesota to honor veterans and encourage sharing of their military experiences through stories, essays, poetry, and art. Schools, organizations, and communities are encouraged to hold events that educate students and citizens about military culture and veterans' experiences. The governor may promote the observance to help the public understand and appreciate what veterans have contributed and experienced.

Practical Notes
Veterans’ Voices Month gives schools and community organizations a framework to hold writing contests, storytelling events, and art programs featuring veterans’ experiences during October. Veterans interested in sharing their stories can connect with schools, libraries, and veterans’ organizations that host related events. This observance is not a legal holiday.
