§ 103D.305 — Increasing Number of Managers

Plain-Language Summary

This section explains how to add more managers to a watershed district. A petition must be filed with the Board of Water and Soil Resources, signed by enough counties, cities, resident owners, or the current managers. After a hearing, the board can increase the number of managers if it would benefit the public.

Practical Notes
The same signature requirements that apply to establishment petitions also apply here. The managers themselves can petition to increase their own numbers by passing a majority resolution. The board’s order will set terms for the new managers and distribute positions among affected counties.
