§ 103D.345 — Permits

Plain-Language Summary

This section covers permit fees that watershed districts can charge. The application fee is up to $10, and a field inspection fee is at least $35. Government agencies are exempt from these fees. Districts can require a bond or other financial assurance from permit applicants. The state Department of Transportation must comply with permit requirements.

Practical Notes
If you need a permit from a watershed district for work in a floodplain or open space area, expect to pay up to $10 for the application and at least $35 for field inspection. Ongoing monitoring costs may be charged after the permit is issued. Federal, state, and local government agencies do not pay these fees. General permits are available for road work by public transportation projects.
