§ 103D.641 — Work Without Bid
Plain-Language Summary
If the estimated cost of a repair is less than $25,000, including all fees and costs, the watershed district managers can hire a contractor without going through the formal bidding process.
103D.641 WORK WITHOUT BID.
If the managers find that the estimated cost of repair, including all fees and costs incurred for proceedings relating to it, is less than $25,000, the managers may have the work done by contract without advertising for bids.

Practical Notes
The $25,000 threshold includes all fees and costs related to the repair, not just the construction cost. For repairs above $25,000, the district must advertise for bids. This streamlines small repairs that would otherwise be delayed by a formal procurement process.
