§ 103D.741 — Final Hearing Notice

Plain-Language Summary

This section sets out what must be included in the notice for the final hearing on a watershed project. Published notice must describe the project, list affected properties, and tell people when and where to appear. Property owners must also get mailed notice. If the district plans to acquire real property, special service rules apply.

Practical Notes
If your property is listed as affected, you will receive mailed notice in addition to the published notice. If the district plans to take your property, you must be personally served with notice at least 20 days before the hearing, similar to service in a lawsuit. A lis pendens must be recorded at the county recorder’s office before the appraisers’ report is filed.
