§ 103E.055 — Reimbursing Cost of Former Surveys When Used Later

Plain-Language Summary

This section says that if a survey done for an earlier drainage project is used for a new project, the people who paid for the original survey must be reimbursed. The new project must pay back the cost of the old survey work that it benefits from.

Practical Notes
If you paid for a survey for a drainage project that was dismissed or not built, and a later project uses that survey work, you may be entitled to reimbursement. Keep records of any survey costs you have paid. This prevents property owners from losing money on survey work that benefits a later project.
