§ 103E.235 — Drainage System in Two or More Counties

Plain-Language Summary

When a drainage project spans two or more counties, it is designated as a joint county drainage system. The affected county boards select five of their members to form a joint county drainage authority, with at least one member from each county.

Practical Notes
Multi-county drainage projects require cooperation between county boards. The joint drainage authority has five members and handles all decisions for the cross-county system. Each participating county must have at least one representative.
