§ 103E.741 — Property Not Assessed Benefits; Hearing

Plain-Language Summary

When a city annexes territory that is within a drainage system, the city becomes subject to the same drainage obligations as other property owners in the system. Municipal property within the system is assessed for benefits.

Practical Notes
Annexation does not exempt a city from drainage assessments. If a city grows into an area served by a drainage system, the city pays its fair share for municipal property that benefits from the drainage.
