§ 103I.231 — Commissioner May Order Repairs

This section allows the Commissioner of Health to order a property owner to repair, reconstruct, or seal a well or boring if it is contaminated or could spread contamination. If the owner does not comply, the commissioner can have the work done and charge the costs to the property owner.

Practical Notes
If your well is found to be contaminated or at risk of spreading contamination, the state can order you to fix or seal it. If you do not follow the order, the commissioner can have the work done and bill you for the costs.
