§ 124D.56 — Community Education Program Revenue; Adults With Disabilities

Plain-Language Summary

School districts that qualify under section 124D.20 may receive revenue to run community education programs serving adults with disabilities. The revenue equals the lesser of actual approved program expenditures or a formula amount based on $0.34 times district population (or the district's fiscal year 2023 revenue, whichever is greater). Districts may also levy for these programs and accept outside public or private money without losing aid, but the revenue may only be used for programs for adults with disabilities.

Practical Notes
Applies to school districts running community education programs for adults with disabilities. Districts are encouraged to cooperate with other districts and with public and private organizations serving adults with disabilities.
