§ 176.591 — State Compensation Revolving Fund

Plain-Language Summary

This section creates the state compensation revolving fund to help the state meet its workers' compensation obligations under this chapter. The fund holds the unexpended balance that existed on July 1, 1935, plus amounts that the various state departments pay into it. The commissioner of management and budget is the custodian of the fund and makes compensation payments from it only when authorized by this chapter and requested by the commissioner of administration.

Practical Notes
This is the state’s internal funding mechanism for paying workers’ compensation owed by state departments. The commissioner of management and budget holds the fund, and payments come out only at the request of the commissioner of administration and only as the chapter allows.
