§ 274.03 — Notice of Meeting

Plain-Language Summary

The clerk must give at least ten days' posted notice of the board of review meeting. Even if the clerk fails to give proper notice or hold the meeting, property assessments are still valid, except for any amount above the property's actual market value.

Practical Notes
A failure to post the meeting notice does not automatically invalidate your property tax assessment. However, if your property was assessed above market value, the lack of proper notice could be a basis for challenging the excess amount.
