2025 Session Last amended: 1985 session

§ 37.19 — Contracts

Plain-Language Summary

The State Agricultural Society can enter into contracts in its own name without publicly requesting bids. It can buy, sell, and lease real property, but real property transactions must be approved by the state Executive Council.

Practical Notes
The Society has flexibility in contracting that most government agencies do not have. However, land deals still need Executive Council approval to ensure proper oversight of state property.
