§ 430.11 — Improvements to Be Made Promptly

Plain-Language Summary

This section requires cities to make improvements under chapter 430 as soon as possible after acquiring the necessary land. This prevents long delays between taking property from owners and actually building the street, park, or other improvement.

Practical Notes
Cities are required to move forward with improvements promptly after acquiring land. If a city acquires your property for an improvement but then delays the project, this section may support a legal challenge to the delay.
