§ 556.09 — Costs

When the court rules against a corporation or a group claiming to be one, the court costs can be collected from the individuals involved or from the directors and officers of the corporation.
556.09 COSTS.
If judgment be rendered in such action against a corporation, or against persons claiming to be such, the court may cause the costs therein to be collected by execution against such persons, or by process against the directors or other officers of such corporation.

Practical Notes
Corporate officers and directors can be held personally responsible for paying court costs when their corporation loses a quo warranto case. This ensures the state can recover its litigation expenses.
