§ 142D.05 — School Readiness Programs

Plain-Language Summary

School districts can create school readiness programs for children ages three through kindergarten entrance. These programs must assess children's skills, follow state learning guidelines, keep staff-to-child ratios of 1 to 10, and involve parents in planning.

Practical Notes
If your child is between three and five years old, your school district may offer a free or low-cost school readiness program. The program helps prepare children for kindergarten through age-appropriate learning activities.
