Plain-Language Summary

This law sets the rules for barber schools in Minnesota. Students must have completed 10 grades of school. The barber program must be at least 1,500 hours and cover subjects like hair cutting, shaving, chemistry, and skin diseases. Schools must have one instructor for every 20 students, operate in one building, and file a $25,000 bond.

Practical Notes
If you want to open a barber school, you need an annual registration, a $25,000 bond, and a sign on the outside of the building. Public technical colleges are exempt from the bond requirement. The school operator must have at least six years of barber experience. Schools can charge students for materials used during training.
